Throwback Thursday: Business Trip Turned Cyclocross Pilgrimage
With bike racing picking back up and World Cup racing of every discipline restarting, we thought what better time to revisit our last trip to Europe.
Back in January, Doug headed across the pond to visit some of our distributors in Europe. While there he was able to squeeze in some cyclocross spectating at the Hoogerheide Cyclocross World Cup and the Cyclocross World Championships in Dübendorf. Let’s just say it was no coincidence that the first meeting was set with our Benelux distributor just 45 minutes from the Hoogerheide Cyclocross World Cup course.
Hoogerheide World Cup
Upon arriving in Hoogerheide Saturday, I checked into the hotel and headed over to the course. The pre-ride session was just starting and a bunch of riders were doing reconnaissance rides. I met up with Maghalie Rochette and David Gagnon of Specialized/Feedback Sports, and they filled me in on where the teams were set up and where to park. The next morning I went over to the team area to get some photos of Feedback products in action.
Dubendorf Cyclocross World Championships
After making my way to Switzerland, the World Championship weekend was here. Dubendorf was hosting the 2020 Cyclocross World Championships. Two days of racing, this meant a lot of running around being a fan while trying to get some action photos too. The World Championships are quite hectic and getting access to the teams is more difficult, but I managed to get a few good behind the scenes photos with some great people.
